Thought I would share a few of my guppies with the forum as I’ve been putting a lot of time into developing and maintaining this line properly over the past few seasons. My main focus has always been on overall health and structure first, rather than simply chasing colour alone. I pay close attention to body shape, finnage balance, swimming posture, vigour, feeding response, and general hardiness within the strain. It takes patience and selective breeding over multiple generations to maintain strong fish that not only look good but also grow consistently and remain active and healthy long term.
The males are now beginning to show very strong colour intensity and cleaner pattern definition, especially under natural daylight where the metallic and iridescent tones really stand out. I’ve also been pleased with the finnage development, as I’ve tried to avoid overly exaggerated tails that can sometimes weaken swimming ability or overall condition. The females are equally important in the breeding programme and I’ve been selecting from robust, well-shaped females with strong genetics and reliable brood quality.
Water quality and stability have played a massive role in getting the fish to this stage. I keep conditions consistent with regular maintenance, strong biological filtration, and a varied diet including quality flakes, live foods, and frozen foods to encourage steady growth and immune strength. I’ve found that consistency is far more important than constantly chasing different additives or shortcuts.
Always satisfying as an aquarist to sit back and watch a healthy colony of guppies displaying naturally, feeding confidently, and moving properly around the tank. Would love to see what strains and projects everyone else here is currently working with as well.
